Other things in the engine.

Anyone running the billet oil pump or the main bearing caps? Here's a list of crap that's going down....

1. 78.5mm overbore pistons (Wiseco)

2. H beam rods (Eagle)

3. block being bathed, bored, the assembly balanced to the flywheel

4. Changing out the oil feed line to the turbo (greddy kit) redone as per these directions from this thread. https://www.miataturbo.net/useful-saved-posts-8/greddy-oil-inlet-upgrade-part-numbers-13306/ also because I'm a fucking 900 pound gorilla and twisted the old one off when tightening it down.

5. Since i have two heads I'm going to run the one that's on there now because it's cleaned out from when I installed the turbo on the first 151k mile engine. In the mean time I'm going to go slow and work the spare head over, get that all ported, get the valvework done.

I was thinking about getting the billet oil pump because the price isn't all atrocious anymore. I've had an oil pump go out on a car before and fuckered that engine up in 50 feet. Don't want to repeat that with an expensive rebuild. I'm not going to be ragging this car CONSTANTLY but I can promise the foot will be on the floor every once in a while. Is an upgraded oil pump a bright idea?

Also, I don't plan on making much more than 200-220 wheel horse power.

If you aren't exceeding 300whp or 7000rpm, don't bother.

Yah, I don't plan on revving it past 7k. I can probably recycle my old bearings, the crank turns pretty easily by hand with minimal effort.

So yah, just got a call from the machine shop, need new bearings anyways. Just ordered Toga main and rod bearings and ACL thrust washers.
