PITA spark plugs
Is it just me or my spark plugs a pain in the ass to get out? It's like my socket is too big and clumsy to even get down far enough to get around the plug without destroying the tops. Even when I grinded the socked down considerably I'm still having issues. Is there a special socket to use? I don't remember this being an issue. They're NGKs by the way.

Wait...you are using a socket specifically designed for spark plugs right? Also the correct size is 5/8.
|
Yeah 5/8 spark plug socket with the little rubber grommet.
|
Crappy socket maybe? I've never had a problem with my craftsman.
|
The one I'm using is a crescent. Whatever I'll just go buy a different one. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced some tight fit issues. Guess not.

No issues, seems you need a new socket.
Only issues I've had was the socket coming off of the extension, but nowadays I outsmart it with packing tape. |
I use a 5/8 Craftsmen socket designed for spark plugs. And then take out rubber grommet. Just spin the plug till it's loose, then stick a sparkplug wire down the hole and snap the plug to the wire.
