Default 2.5 DP -> 2.75 cat -> 3 inch out

Anyone done this without welding. I am wanting to run my 2.5 fm downpipe and bolt it up to a 2.75 cat to a 3 inch catback. I figure since its only going up .25 each connection it may be alright? I see guys running 2.5 downpipes to stock exhaust so I figure I am in the clear.

if your question is "is it possible" then the answer is yes.
been there done that

*edit: actually it depends on your flanges, but most of them should let you get away with it.

Thanks 18psi for the quick reply. I hope I wont be battling potential exhaust leaks. Part of me is very nervous as I hate jerryrigged things. Hmm maybe Ill get a 2.5 to suffice until I can go full 3 inch all the way.

that's a terrible idea.

if you're starting from scratch right now, there's no reason not to go 3

Well I already have a 2.5 downpipe. Wife would kill me if I bought a full 3 inch exhaust right now. I have my eye on cheap 2.5 straight exhaust on the classifieds and I have 2.5 inch magnaflow sitting in my garage from another project I had. So I could just get it welded up. idk.

You want a nice 3" midpipe? Mine's off an NB though not sure if it would fit (though I don't see why not). It tapers to 2.5" at the very back, so you could bolt it to your maggie

I ran something like that and it made good power. Now, my AbsurdFlow with larger turbo and full 3" spools better, but it's from another universe.
