Preventive maintenance question...
My car has just over 100K miles - 169.000 Km, actually.
I am running about 13 psi on stock internals. The engine has never been "opened" so far.
Lately, I am going through a bit of oil. Mostly on start ups, and in the form of one single puff under heavy acceleration. About 1 qt in maybe 1000 miles or less.
The question is, should I just go ahead and install
Things like timing belt and seals would of course be replaced, as well..
I would basically do a hone job, and take it from there, if the cylinders and the bearing surfaces check out.
This would save me money as well as having to rush to scrounge parts and make the time to fix a major disaster if the engine goes boom when it is least expected.
I also did a compression test recently, and all four came out at 180 psi.
What do you guys think?
Am I overthinking this, or is it a good idea?

- rings
- bearings
- valve seals
- oil pump
- h beam rods (while I am in there, anyway)
- new head studs
