Default quick injector question

So here's the deal:

I'll be taking out the 460's this week, need to drop stockers in, pass smog, drive on them for a month or two till I get my new setup together, then they will be pulled in favor of some 1000's.

When I pulled them about 10 months ago they were working fine. They have been lying around all this time though, would I need to clean em for them to work good or do I just drop em back in no problem or what?

The other question: getting them cleaned by DW would cost roughly as much as a set of new/cleaned ones from a 94-97. Would 94-97 tan tops work ok on my car? I've heard tons of people using it the other way around, but what about 94-97's in a 99? Most importantly WILL IT PASS SMOG?

Any input would be awesome. Thanx

I would throw them in and see how it does, chances are it will be fine.

I think the tan tops would be too short, but you can try it anyway.

While we're on the subject, what are the biggest PNP injectors you guys carry for an NB miata and are they e85 compatible?

18, I put injectors that fit on my '92 1.6 in my 2000 head to check fitment last week. They fit, so the tans should, too.

If you end up needing some ID1000s or bigger, we should talk. Just remember that before you pull the trigger, I have some little tips that may make things easier for you.

I'm all ears man. I'm definitely going to end up with 1000's, but just MAY get some 600-700's for now so I don't have to hack up the harness

Emilio is now selling ID injectors, http://949racing.com/Injector-Dynamics-miata.aspx, pic right from his site:

I didn't get mine from 949, got them from the local tuner, pic installed in my m-tuned rail:

.
If you look at the stock pic, the tip o-ring has a black plastic ring below it. The diameter of this ring won't allow the tip of the injector to insert into the hole in the head. I had to cut this ring off. I also took off the tip o-ring, and used a soft rubber tip grommet/o-ring.

Pic of the IDs lined up as installed, also shown without the adapter cap that they came with, next to the Marren 440s I was using in the 1.6, and the stock injectors from a '97 1.8:

The ID1000 measured 2.60", they were a bit longer than the Marrens and the stockers, but installed in the rubber grommets there was enough crush to work.

The Marrens measured 2.54", measured as per pic:

I'd like to see if Emilio will chip in some info on his ID injectors. Do they not come equipped with the black tip ring, do they require the same work mine did to install? Are they the same length that I measured (it says 60mm on his site=2.36", where is that measured)? Also says no wiring needed, mine just came with weather pack pins and rubbers that I need to crimp onto bear wire ends and assemble into the clips.

I'm not taking the rail out again, if you want any more measurements your going to have to blow me.
