Rear crankshaft seal too deep?

I installed the crankshaft seal deeper than what I have seen others do in pictures. Others look like its flush with the crank. Do you think this will be a problem? The deeper the better or wait for a new seal and redo. Any experience?

Looks fine. Flush to the bottom of the champher of the rear main seal housing.
Even going past that point, the seal will bottom out against the block.
The big thing is that it is square in the holder.

Before you knocked in the seal, did you look at the crank where the seal rides for a groove?

Looks about right to me.

No I didn't see a groove.

FM sells a new tool to install the rear seal correctly.
