Removed Head and Found Leftover Spacer Under Car... What is this?

Removed the head to put in ARP studs. Once I was done and had everything already labeled in bags, I found the spacer on the left under the car. I have no idea where this came from and was hoping someone might recognize it. Nut on the right is for size reference.

It is about 14mm OD and 9mm ID.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

that should be the power steering bracket shim...

It's possible that is from the timing belt cover. I believe they have metal inserts formed into the plastic.

Maybe the dowel guide pin that aligns the head to the block? There's two of them

Too thick to be a head alignment pin, timing cover bolt stops are rolled with a visible seam.

had this thing in my hands last weekend, i'm pretty sure its the bracket shim from the PS

It also could be a spacer from the shoulder belt mounting bolt. There are a couple per side. Too thick for a head alignment pin as Ryan said. Did you replace your seatbelts with harnesses lately or remove a style bar?

I'm not certain it's the power steering shim. You'd know if it was. IIRC you have to beat/press it out of the bracket. Also they usually have a good ring of surface rust from the exposed portion of the shim.

Thanks Guys!!!

No AC or power steering on the car.

Will take a look at the timing belt cover!

It's definitely not the dowels, they are way thinner and I have them bagged already.

Running harnesses and this 100% came from the engine compartment.

Cool deal man - I see you're in Austin; if you ever need a hand, let me know. I've over in West Austin.

Nice! There is hardly anyone in Austin on here. Hit me up.

Turns out the elusive spacer was the inner part of the lower oem coil mount. It goes inside the lower coil grommet to hold the bolt in place.

Austin crew, checking in.

For sure, it is pretty insane.

Need to get a good alignment at Soulspeed and then it is ready to go. I'm not too thrilled with the alignment on the car now.

Hit me up via pm if you get a chance.
