I know it's been a hot minute since I've been around here, but I'm currently rebuilding my NB2 ('02) engine completely, so it's torn down to the block.

Now while I've ordered a crossflow radiator and new fans, since I both live in Florida and want to F/I this car shortly after I get things running well, I've been looking into the whole coolant reroute thing. (Actually, have been since I owned my NA)

Before I even looked at these threads, while watching the video for the QMax, the first thought I had when seeing the small blockoff plate was "Wow, that'd be a good place to tap a hole for a sensor. Wonder why they didn't do that!".
I'd be down to drill/tap a reroute in the front to gain some additional data, if a reroute is recommended.

I'm also trying to figure out which HG would be the right one to use in this situation, as Cometic appers to have a single '94-97 gasket (which I think 949 lists as being technically compatible with '99-'05 with a reroute) and FM seems to have their own Cometic gasket which they say is based on the factory '01-05. That one seems to have some small holes where the factory one has none, maybe some middleground between the two styles? Not sure which of these would be ideal (for both testing and my actual intended purpose) but if i can help provide some data points while I'm building this, I'm all for it.
