Reusing head gasket on non started motor?
I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this and all, but I figured I'd ask to maybe save getting a new head gasket.
I have assembled my motor and torqued down the head, but havent even isntalled the motor yet. Now, I need to pull the head off and when I go to put it back on, is it safe to reuse the head gasket or is it like a once-torqued its no good type thing? |
You'll be fine, should not be an issue.

Are you saying it was new as of just before you torqued it down? You should be fine.

Thanks guys I guess I'll try to "old" one and hopefully have no problems. |
shouldn't be an issue whatsoever, just torque it down to the same spec and use the same recommended sequence...
