Rx7 Injectors

Hey guys.. On my car (1.6, 93, 9:1 pistons, Pauter rods, MSPnp2, 13t) I have yet to purchase injectors and I have heard of people using rx7 injectors, just wanting input on what cc injector to run.. I'm looking to make 225-250 hp with this build, thanks in advance!

Use a newer style injector -- like an rx8 injector or EV14 style. RX7 injectors have poor spray pattern.

adryargument 11-16-2016 04:32 AM

EV14 or nothing

If the RX7 ones are free....

Otherwise EV14. Go buy the set from flow force.

I would still chuck them in the trash

I mean even if the RX7 injectors are free, you will still spend $75 getting the flow tested. Short of trying to enter the GRM 2017 challenge, or something along those lines, skip RX7 injectors.

Odell89 11-16-2016 12:13 PM

They are free, just a friend that owes a favor.. And that favor is being returned with brand new free Mazda injectors of my choice, so the rx8's would be the better choice if I'm going the free route? I had looked into the flow force ones in the past, these Mazda ones were just an offer to help me out.

in that case rx8 injectors are better and should get you to almost 250 on pump gas

Odell89 11-16-2016 01:40 PM

Awesome, that's what I'm shooting for, thank you! Is there a certain model/trim in particular that has better injectors than others? Or are they pretty well all the same?

albumleaf 11-16-2016 03:26 PM

When people refer to RX-8 injectors on here, it's the yellow 420cc primaries. Not many people run the green ones as the yellow is generally more than enough (sans E85) to hit the stock block wtq limit.

Odell89 11-16-2016 03:37 PM

Okay, thank you!! They guy I'm getting them from is at a dealer, so i guess I tell him primary injectors for say, a 2005 model? Also, do these also plug right in?

wagnerov 11-17-2016 08:50 PM

The yellow RX8 injectors were plug-n-play on my 1.6, stock and aftermarket fuel rails. Easy-peasy...

Odell89 11-18-2016 09:06 AM

Awesome. They will be here Monday, thanks a bunch!

Not starting a new thread because this seems like a good place to ask:

If buying mustang injectors from rock auto and a DIY kit from forceflow or such, would you still get the injectors flow tested or is that unnecessary for a set of 4 brand new injectors (mustang or rx8)?

Thanks!

18psi 11-22-2016 04:06 PM

That's literally what flowforce does for his injector kits. 4 brand new injectors can stil vary wildly in numbers.

buy flowforce set and enjoy.
or do the same thing, but with much more effort and time invested, to save a few dollars. to most of is, it's a no brainer.

elior77 12-31-2016 10:02 AM

I run rx7 460cc @ 90%+ @ 15psi, running good.

Of course EV14 are better but they do the work.

I wonder if take offs from a new/low mile cars are better for that reason. I.e. I figure manufactures flow match before putting injectors into cars due to said variations.

18psi 12-31-2016 02:01 PM

nope, they sure dont. I've seen this tested on at least 3 different platforms

they just tune around it. it's really crappy

poormxdad 01-02-2017 03:15 PM

I want to add you will not find better support than from Flow Force, for anything you buy. Nigel has gone above and beyond to help me with my issue. See https://www.miataturbo.net/engine-pe...ke-crap-91105/

I could not be more impressed. I paypal'd Nigel beer money. Seriously. Listen to the advice here.

Savington 01-02-2017 07:37 PM

All the mystery in EV14s is in the matching. Flow Force makes that very easy for a very small amount of money.
