I would never use anything but the Wisecos. I have seen far too many ST crack at the valve reliefs. My Wisceos have endured 5 seasons, that's roughly 20 hours of operation in competition and have never skipped a beat.

But my car isn't a 300hp street car. And it does sound like a diesel when it's warming up. I don't use the temp gauge to watch it warm up.......I use the vacuum gauge :)

I think you proved Sav's point. That said, why would your vacuum change between warm and cold? What piston to wall clearances are you running? My PTW is on the tight side, but it is what Brian uses in his 1000HP Wiseco 2j builds. The 2j he was building for ryan tuerck is running the same clearances as mine. Granted i sprayed a bit of extra dry film on my skirts at the same clearances, i figure it will wear off in the first few hundred miles opening my PTW 0.0005 or half a thou is my guess.

As long as you have 8 or more pistons, you are ok.

I live in the northeast but it’s not a daily driver, far from it. Sees 3000-5000 choice miles per year, typically between April and end of October, with a few start-ups during the warmer winter days.

I can see why someone would want to run the supertechs more, I often kick myself for not doing so, but the Wiseco have been good for the last 9,000 miles. Next time I pull the engine apart to do maintenance like rings and bearings, I’ll evaluate. My engine is built pretty loose too, I believe P2W is .0035-.004 (maybe my decimals are off) and bearings are .002 (again pardon my decimals)
