Default vernier timing

where is a good place to start with vernier cam timing on a built 1.8 turbo motor? sure i read somewhere to leave the exhaust and advance the inlet 6deg to reduce overlap. going for mapping in the morning. the mapper is a big evo tuner so may well have ideas of his own. any ideas or past experience welcome.

Advancing the intake cam will increase overlap. Just try both and see what works for your needs.

The exhaust cam gear will gain you much less than the intake gear will.

Move 2 degrees and one wheel at a time until the dyno readout is highest...
