Smoking from tailpipe - need opinion
1 Attachment(s)
I recently took my car to the dyno and my car would blow smoke after doing a pull on the dyno. I'm guessing this happens on the road too, I just can't see it. I have a stock 1.8 with a rebuilt garret journal bearing turbo. I have many suspicions about why it's smoking. I've replaced valve stem seals, Turbo feed is -4an with a 1/16 restrictor, -10an turbo drain. Is it possible for the engine to pull coolant through the head gasket under deceleration? Though I've heard that oil smoke is blueish, coolant is white, and gas is black. From the videos you can see that the smoke is more white than blue. Can some experts look at this clip and see if it looks like coolant smoke or oil smoke.

Perform a leakdown? What valve seals did you use?

Why answer one question and not the other? Diagnosing issues over the internet is extremely difficult. When people don't provide data it's literally impossible.
