I have this weed eater that has a 4 cycle motor on it. When I start it up, I marvel at how it has a low throaty rumble when I start it. The thing has surprisingly good throttle response when you pull the trigger too.
But you know what? It is still a fucking weed eater. |
Hahaha this is why i joined this site. Thank you guys.

Ive never seen anyone do anything like it. I was very impressed with what can be done to the sohc motors in hondas. So opposed to building another turbo dohc motor i wanna frankenstein some stuff to be the first. Everyones seen the v8 miatas an everyone knows a boosted dohc is fast but i doubt if anyones seen a boosted sohc mazda motor. Just the noise that little sohc will make is gonna be rad.
Nope, you're right. I've never seen a boosted SOHC Mazda motor. Also: penis. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1390522276 |

People frequently confuse aggressive cam profiles with a head being good. VTEC is just a cam profile. A non-VTEC head can do the same thing, it will just get bad gas mileage and not idle very smoothly. There is not much inherently wrong with SOHC other than a lack of ajustability in the cam profiles and the fact that the spark-plugs cannot be perfectly centered and vertical. 2 valves per cylinder is what makes this a lame head. I would personally love to experiment with the 16v sohc head in a Miata. |

Too late, someone has already done a 3 cylinder SOHC. He is more different and rad than you. Now you either need a 2 cyl SOHC, 2 stroke, or maybe you could put a a V4? All super rad and different.

How about a big 2-cycle boat engine? Shit would scream, yo.
|
Sometimes there's a very very good reason why no one has never done something before.....
|
Where is that dude that put the 2 stroke snowmobile engine in his Lemons Miata? I believe it had a pull start sticking out from the "hood"
Edit: I assume it was 2 stroke based on the smoke plume and exhaust note. |
Someones got to make a giant 1 or 2 cylinder engine, no? That will be very rad.
A square looking motor would be sick under the miata hood. |

i honestly have no idea why some one would swap the SOHC cyl on...
I'm trying to do the opposite with my protege |
