Default What weight oil in a boosted 1.6?

Hey guys just wondering what weight oil other people used in their boosted 1.6's??

Details are a Saab t3 in a 1.6 with 125k, do you stick with the stock weight or use something lighter?

Current temp averages are 85 here in nj

40 weight sounds nice.

Rotella T6, don't spend another minute on the subject.

I use the cheaper Shell Rotella. It's the standard oil, but I can't remember if its in the white or blue bottle. They're usually only sold in gallons, something like $12.99?

It's proven on here to be a great oil, and does wonders to rattly engines to quiet them down.

The conventional (white bottle) or synth blend (silver bottle T5)?

I've used the white bottle Rotella conventional in my Frontier V6 with no problems. With a boosted motor I'd prefer the T6.

I'm pretty sure I use the white conventional. I'm sure the synthetic is the preferred oil on here, but the conventional seems to have the same quieting properties as the synthetic at half the cost. And I couldn't be bothered to care.

My only preference for the synthetic in a turbo motor is the temperatures seen in the CHRA. Synthetic theoretically resists coking better. In my case, my turbo is ONLY oil-cooled.

I can't quantify or prove the above though. Haven't been doing oil analyses.

We should literally start a new thread asking what oil people literally use in their Miatas.

Starting new threads without searching is disrespectful to the forum.
