Stock FPR and high power applications

Who actually has had one not function correctly because of power and not age?
If you have had problems, at what point did they show up?

I am running the M-tuned fuel rail and aeromotive FPR, but someone else I know is still running the stock FPR and we are wondering how long it will last. I know there has been a good amount of speculation as to when you need it, but no direct experience that I can find.

Not quite on topic, but I figured I'd post here rather than make another thread. What are the symptoms of a dying FPR? I've had some stumbling/missing at high RPMs. It came along right after I put in a new fuel pump, which I'm guessing puts more strain on the FPR. What are you guys using to replace the stock FPR? It looks like a stock replacement is +$100 which seems like a lot. I keep looking at these $30 ebay regulators but that just seems like a bad idea.

those egay regulators are the suck man i bought one and it kept me pegged at 90 psi no matter what i did. Mostly we just use stock ones we puilled off another car. Its a fairly simple and robust design i dont think anyone has poped one becouse of to much pressure as all it is, is a diapraghm, with a vacuum/boost line running to it.

Thanks for the reply. I also got a PM from sixshooter that makes me feel like mine is working fine. I'm back to thinking it's just my crazy AEM wideband that's trying to tune itself crazy rich. With each point I've leaned the car out it's run better. I'm just weary to keep pushing it leaner when megatune wants to richen things up.

first of all until you hit the 12.8 to 1 range i wouldnt worry alot at your psi lvl. Hell i run about 12.6 at 18 psi with way more timing than you so your prob apraoching the range of good ole hp increase. Just remember to make changes gradualy and only change one thing at a time so it is simpler to folow where shit went wrong if it indeed goes wrong. This way you can either avoid the problem in the future or fix it on your current setup if things werrent that bad when it went wrong gl man. :D
