Stock fuel rail question

Im getting ready to install my Begi S4 kit and im kind confused on how to get around my stock fuel pressure regulator. Do i need to buy an aftermarket fuel rail to bypass the FPR. I have an AEM FPR and need some guidance.

Install Megasquirt.

Install better injectors.

Sell AEM FPR.

Profit.

I used the m-tuned rail for mine so I could ditch the fpr because the 044 pump is just way too much for the oem regulator to handle.

What year car is it?

Doing a cheap starter kit on bandaids is one thing... doing a powerful S4 kit that will rip a hole in your block on spool up on the other hand....

'xactly! Don't skip the engine management.

Especially when "not skimping" is like $200. You could put on an MS2 for pocket lint.

Double post

I have a 96 with a begi S4 everything done to the bottom end , MSPNP2, rx7 550cc inj, walbro 255lph pump, aem fpr

Miater 02-19-2013 03:17 PM

Sell the FPR and be done.

So stock is good enough? Really? 31 psi of fuel is enough that dosent seem right im going to be pushing 15 psi through a gt2860

PSI is a measure of restriction, not flow. Your 255 liter/hour pump will flow more than enough fuel.

Leafy 02-19-2013 03:36 PM

If he's only measuring 31 psi in boost either his measurement is done wrong, or the fpr is broken.

No sorry guys that fuel measurement is for a stock system stock fpr stock pump and naturall aspiration. So the consensus is to run the 255lph pump and stock fpr the turbo kit is going on now

Miater 02-19-2013 03:50 PM

The MS will take care of the rest for you.

triple88a 02-19-2013 04:14 PM

I promise you mate, you're not the first one to run 15 psi.

NaBianski 02-19-2013 06:16 PM

I trust you guys thats why i came here :) i normally search and figure shit out myself hence my post count . I was just making sure i was reading correctly thankyou everyone :)

That is probably idle pressure. IIRC is should bump up to around 45-50 under load.
