Default Snakey Header dyno

Back in the 200hp thread, Emilio eluded to dyno-ing the scary CX Racing equal length headers in comparison to RB and a couple of others.

Did that test happen?
I have read much about header types and the equal length always was interesting but often impractical.

I believe it was tested. I don't remember the thread link.

But I DO remember RB was the clear winner.

I believe it did. I recall seeing a thread or post about it.

EDIT - oh sorry, I meant the RB header as described above... not the one you asked about.

Ray Charles can see that that thing is not equal length.

What I've taken away from the eleventy billion miata header dyno threads is that for the price, Racing Beat sells a quality product that is hard to beat. You can pay 2x or 3x more for a Maharu or a Maxim Works or whatever JDM thing tickles your fancy, but the extra 3hp is not worth the premium in price.

I'm still in the "dubious that any header is worth the price" camp.

Racing Beat put real R&D into that header before producing it, thats why it works so well

Im sure on some of the more extreme NA BP engines there is room for improvement. The Racing Beat was definitely designed around a mild engine, but even then I bet a Tri-Y with larger primaries would be the magic bullet.

I know Keith had luck with the header he built for the Targa Miata but Im a bit skeptical of the bundle of snakes headers.

FWIW, on the cheap I don't think you can do much better than the NB2 stuff

Probably sounds like a subie.

Speaking of which, didnt someone do a turbo manifold with severely un-equal length 1-2 and 2-3, which sounded very subaru-ish?

I want my miata to sound like a subaru. Or anything besides a miata really. Then I wouldn't need a 28" muffler.
