Default Thrust washer direction

Engine builders, anyone know which way the thrust washers go? Do the grooves face the crank or the block? My guess was the grooves face the crank so that oil can get in between the crank and washers. Any help would be awesome!

The grooves face the crank shoulder.

+1 to what Joe said...

If you're ever in doubt, just look at which side is bearing material and which side is steel... steel side goes against the main cap.
