Tripzters stock intake manifold experiments

Alright folks been focking around with my intake mani. I ended up gutting the upper portion a while ago but the results were posted in a thread and got burried so heres my new shit.

This is with the wastegate disconnected to try to get more accurate data.

The only pic i have of my gutted manifold is this. Not of the finished product but oh well. Anyhow.... Yolo :vash2:

Open vs closed. meaning the butter flys being 100% open for the entire run vs closed. You can see the power transfer changed from the original vics to 5900-6k rpm while before with the vics best tranfer was at like 5400rpm. Vics vs gutted.. vics is better for the 7k power line however if you increase the power line to 8+k rpm then the gutted manifold will shine due to the shorter runners
I did 4 runs. 2 closed and 2 open. Note the afrs. Obviously open loop so nothing was changed for the fueling and the timing and this is at about 120kpa max (again open wastegate).

For tomorrows experiment i will test this. The runners are shortened about 1" from the stock. The theory is to keep the vics chamber in tact however shorten the runner to increase the powerband since the stock runners are tuned for about 5.5 peak power.

Well today was a bust.. no luck in testing. It was a nasty rainy day so anything over 5k would slip. At 70mph, it would still slip tires. I was able to get 1 run that felt like it was okay but its questionable so i wont even bother. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

Well shiet, Theres way too much variance.

Red one which is at the bottom is with the vics chamber in tact and the butterflies closed however it was a little uphill and was windy today. Then theres run 2.. 10 seconds after run 1 and u can see much higher.

Run 3 and 4 are from 2 days ago with the vics chamber gutted but the butterflies closed

run 5 and 6 are with the chamber gutted and open. and last 2 are with the vics chamber in tact but open. As you can see the purple and the lilac are neck and neck so..

I did notice though when the butterflies are open in the gutted manifold the response is much faster.
