Default Turbo advice, prices, deals etc

hi guys,

after reading the threads iv decided ot go for a greddy bolt on kit. i want to purchase it soon, iv found a few places to go but on the net but i woundered if you guys could point me in the direction of the best deal.
the best i found is at a site called raceinspired, for a bolt of greddy kit for $1409 delivered. i also am thinking on going for a emanage piggy back ecu, but im still unsure of how and what it does and weather i realy need it or do i need a stand alone, ie megasquirt? oh also some advie on an intercooler kit. im going for the lot but my budget is $2000 so the greddy is the cheepest route for me.

any advice on any of the above i would greatly appreciate as i have cash waiting and with your help hope to order this week.

Thnaks

Coming from a Greddy owner, take my word for it- the Greddy kit is junk. The turbo itself is a decent unit, but the rest of the supporting hardware is poo and kangaroos.

The Bell Shanghai-S is $1,405 delivered. Granted, it's a Chinese turbo, but they've been having good luck with 'em. And what's more, the manifold and FPR that this one comes with are top-notch, and you've got a good future upgrade path.

Man, who'd have ever thought that a Bell kit would cost less than a Greddy? I'm waiting for the Hudson River to turn to blood here...

saw that

I've been playing with configurations on their site all week. Trying to decide between a stripper S Series or the S1 with the extra goodies.

i read a few threads about it. making it very clear to make sure you have taken into consideration the fueling which is my main concirn. if i buy the begi shanghi kit which i may order tomorrow, get an ebay intercooler kit and a piggy back ecu i think to my knollage im covered but thats why im asking on here. its been a plan for a a long time but i want ot do it right. is it worth buying a piggy back system like the emanage as well?

The e-manage blue is not so good and for the money best to just get a MS. People here are selling MS all the time and there is a thread on how to build them for each year miata. If you go with a Begi kit i think they give you a fpr so you should be fine for low boost. Then later down the road you can go stand alone with the MS PNP or just a MS1. Also if you have a 1.6l miata you have no need for a gt2871r that turbo its good for 250-300whp on your miata you would need a built motor. The best bet for turbo size on your car would be a gt2560r great turbo good spool and good power people here love them.

Did you take a look at this??

https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t14598/

take it that you have 2000 and if you eliminate the afpr from your cart then it you should have enough for a MS..... just my .02 I just dont see it necesary to get the afpr if youre gonna upgrade anyway.

yeah i saw this the other day. I think for know im going to just go for the begi kit and maybe a cheep intercooler kit, then eventually go for a MS.

This is probably a silly question but if i also put an inter cooler on will i need the ecu as well or can i still have the inter cooler with the begi kit running at 5-6psi?

Intercooler kit just keeps you intake temp cold. If anything its going to help you by lowering your chance from knock and not having to retard your timing as much.
