look im not spamming my way to 15 posts i could care less about that i came for help and if you don't want to help you can go spam on another thread. Im trying to work out my budget for my turbo set up . Forums are meant for helping not flaming. Just because you know more then me doesn't give you the right to think im stupid just because i want some help. I just need some help thats all can some of you put your own setups up and maybe i can just cherry pick off of the ideas you guys put up? thanks.

whats a good bov for only around 6 or 7 psi since the topic of bov has arose. Also im thinking about just going striaght pipe with only a magnaflow res. any input on that?

On a side not from someone who does NOT have a turbo car (R.I.P. MSM) but has only gotten his grubby hands on every turbo book he can (with limited success) bypass is the way to go. Especially on low boost apps. Its not what people who are in it for the head turns want to hear, but itll help keep from destroying your compressor with turbo surge. Not that thats a huge deal at 7 psi.

It certainly depends on what bov you have, how it is adjusted, etc. but my experience with my Greddy type-S (not a knock-off) is that it's perfectly sensitive enough to vent air immediately on off-throttle even without buiding boost, while holding completely shut and not leaking a bit of air when it should be closed. If you're running a factory ecu and therefore MAF, AFM, etc. then you need to recirculate it - but that's because otherwise your metered air doesn't = the amount of air in the system, it's not to help the turbo. The backpressure that is (arguably) harmful to the compressor is vented either way. |
