Valve Seat Depth and Valve Installed Height

Ive had my local machine shop install 1mm oversized Manley stainless steel valves in my bp4w cylinder head. I was also able to source some of the vs855 style valve springs from this volvo parts shop in South Carolina for 109 shipped. After getting my head back I installed my cams to check and set my valve lash and all of them are too loose by about .040" When I crudely measured my valve installed height from above the valve seat washer to the tip of the valve I got approximately 1.74" which is under the serviceable height of 1.772" by approximately .040". My question is should I have the machine shop cut the valves deeper into the head or just buy a set of lash caps to run under the stock lifters? I am worried about having the face of the valve recessed into the combustion chamber too much. Reducing the thickness of the valve seat and reducing the heat transfer from the valve to the seat and into the head. This is going on a turbo car with power goals around 350whp, at the moment. Here are some photos of how the valve seats and face look.
