Vics removal

I have -99 1.8 NB with MS3Basic

Just noticed that at some point during my engine rebuild I have cut one of the vics solenoids vacuum line connectors and I am trying to think if I need to buy a new one or if I can just remove it.
Is there a noticeable benefit running vics on a turbo setup?
If not can I just connect the two vacuum lines that the vics solenoid uses together or do I have to remove some other stuff too?

Yes, there is a noticable benefit to running it, especially with a turbo. Lots of dyno charts that show it with and without.

Thanks, I just ordered a new one.
It won't arrive before next week so would it be possible to connect the vacuum lines that connect to the solenoid together to get my car running?

The car will run fine without it hooked up, although I don't remember whether it defaults to the low rpm position or the high one. It'll be down a bit of torque, that's all.

This - unless your butt dyno is finely calibrated. I ran for (I don't know how long) without VICs until I discovered that one of the wires on the connector had frayed off. And even when I repaired it, I couldn't REALLY tell the difference - I TOLD myself that I could tell, but not REALLY.
