Vics removal
I have -99 1.8 NB with MS3Basic
Just noticed that at some point during my engine rebuild I have cut one of the vics solenoids vacuum line connectors and I am trying to think if I need to buy a new one or if I can just remove it. Is there a noticeable benefit running vics on a turbo setup? If not can I just connect the two vacuum lines that the vics solenoid uses together or do I have to remove some other stuff too? |
Yes, there is a noticable benefit to running it, especially with a turbo. Lots of dyno charts that show it with and without.

--Ian It won't arrive before next week so would it be possible to connect the vacuum lines that connect to the solenoid together to get my car running? |

The car will run fine without it hooked up, although I don't remember whether it defaults to the low rpm position or the high one. It'll be down a bit of torque, that's all.
