I first pondered the idea of having dimpled ports when I was in highschool, I never thought of doing it to the valves.
I was thinking strictly from a flow standpoint, but Id imagine dimpling the valves ma have some other implications

if there isn't developed, laminar flow at the back of the valve, they'd do nothing.
if flow is interrupted by, say, a shaft and forced around a corner, it's probably no longer laminar at the boundary layer.
