yeah dont want to go further... what do you think is the best DIY mods? and what about my pistons should i clean them? what should i use? thnx
|
Type "DIY, head work, headwork, port and polish" and terms like that into the advanced search engine. You could read for days. Unfortunately most here are dumb asses and don't know anything about headwork and simply regurgitate what other highly unknowledgeable people said. So getting the facts straight is tough. Best bet is to buy a few books on cylinder head modifications and read up. Basically do your own research and come to your own conclusions. That's the first half; learning what works. There are also book that teach you HOW to do the work. That's the other half. Just because a bigger intake valve on a 2 valve SUHC big block helps the motor breathe to 5500 RPMs doesn't mean a 4 valve pent roof under square engine needs them too. But try to tell that to some of the members of this forum and they'll say "well FM does it and so does blah blah blah, and he did too, therfore it works!"

Oh, and since you asked what you should use, I'll tell you. Proper grammar. This isn't kindergarten.

I don't agree with the author on all accounts, but overall, a very informative, to the point read. Ah, if English isn't your first language then my apologies. Your English reads well. You just don't capitalize the first letter of every sentence like we do. That was what I was complaining about.

If that's snow on the block, don't bother. If it's metal shavings, uhhh..

the block have been rebuilt last year so the base should be okay i dont understand what you are saying sorry. But the pistons are b6t turbo stock pistons and the base of the engine stay in the car and car is outside for her first winter :(
My question is should i clean the top of the pistons if yes what sould i use are they of a normal color? |
the pistons look fine to me, i guess if you want to clean them get some mineral spirits and a soft cloth and wipe them down. At least you cant hurt anything doing that. Also, cover those ports up with some tape or something man ... you dont want dirt to get in that oil port because even a little tiny bit would have to go through the entire head before it made its way through the filter.
