I need to build up an new bottom end for the race car (400bhp 1.8 turbo). The new block is from a mk2.5 vvt. I have always used ACL race bearings in the past but is there any good reason not to use the standard bearings if they are all in spec? Sure i read somewhere that the standard bearings are just as good.

Standard rod bearing can become deformed under high loads. As a compromise I will run ACL rod bearings and standard mains.
