Default where to get transmission rebuilt?

I have a 6 speed msm, 3rd gear is going out at high rpm, i dont want to bother with a used tranny id prefer a rebuilt one. Are these gearboxes super special or anything or should i just drop it off at mr.transmission and tell them to have at it. i dont want to lose the shot peened gears to just standard replacement ones or whatever? sorry for dumb questions just really stressed, ive searched for maita specialists i got ics racing but no reviews of them and the website looks sketchy.

Any shop can do them. I highly doubt you can buy any gears other than Mazda gears. If you are too worried, get them to take it apart and tell you what you need and go buy the parts from Mazda yourself!

thanks for quick reply and are you reccomending i buy the synchros and gears i want replaced from mazda and ask them to replace it for me?
do you have any reccomendations or should i just go to a local mr.trans? thats the only regular transmission place i can think of that does not specialize....

* edit, i just gravity bled the system of some older fluid, it was kinda dark. i did a 2nd gear pull to about 5k ish and the crunch to 3rd was MUCH quieter, im thinking it might be a old slave cylinder. if so i have a new slave cylinder and maybe master cylinder im just not sure if the msm uses different parts tho, they seem different. ******* **** MAN, i just blew a tranny on my daily driver and got this car to hold me over till its fixxed and im having more tranny issues i ******* love tranny issues omg FML

I think you want GL-4 in the transmission, I thought the consensus was that GL-5 was too slick and the synchros do not work properly with it.
