Windage screen
Anyone using a windage tray screen for oil control?
Worth it, or no. |
My 03 motor came with one, thus it was left on. The original 94 engine never had one. Both were/are fine engines.
What are you trying to accomplish, what motor, what usage? |
Guessing you are referring to where there is an actual mesh screen added to the factory windage tray like this that Ishihara Johnson offers?
http://www.crank-scrapers.com/ebay%2...-windage-a.jpg Never used one but have thought about it. Not sure it's going to be something most on here would go for. More of a getting that last .1% thing. I'd probably add a real crank scraper first or both if you are really going for that last bit of extra power. Seems like most don't even bother with scrapers but that is pretty proven to make some small (maybe very small) difference in basically any engine. Other than adding something else that can possibly come apart inside your engine and a little extra cash I doubt there are really any other drawbacks. In for other opinions though. |
Yes, exactly…...with a scraper. (or without)
I figured some with a higher end BP build would have some input. Seems like it would have some benefit on a fast rev 4cyl. Then again, I'm just an old hot rodder that hung out with dirt trackers (with their snake oil). ;) |
