Would you buy a used SuperDamper?
Local seller who bought it used and never installed it. Looks like one of the Torx bolts is a bit buggered up, and some scratches on the edge of the damper. I'm assuming it was dropped before installation. I'm asking him whether it includes the crank bolt, woodruff key and trigger wheel.
What say ye engine builders? What would you be willing to pay? https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...9f8a43b25b.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...08ea7d8436.jpg |
What is the asking price? I would probably offer 150ish and settle at 200
The ATI damper requires a special trigger wheel, you definitely want that. It uses a standard Mazda woodruff key and crank bolt, I wouldn't reuse those from someone else's motor.

Missing the trigger wheel, and asking way higher than that. Hard pass.
Is this the one on FB? Never installed but used as a hammer?
It is listed on the FB, I've met the guy selling it. He seems like a decent enough guy.
For reference, the seller allegedly bought it as "perfect condition" and received it messed up, current seller is being honest about the issue, although his price of 390 is wild..
If you buy it, You can always send it back to ATI and have them inspect it.
$390 no way..

So to answer the question in the title of the thread, yes, apparently I would. And it sucked for me. YMMV |
^ damn. Who spends that kind of money on a motor-specific performance part then takes a reamer to it?
Apparently this is an item that should be purchased BNIB. And based on the other thread, will probably still be wrong. |
