OK, before anyone piles on and starts up "did you search"... yes.. yes i did. I searched and did not find, So, i come to you and hope that the hive-mind can help.
Here's the background. YES. I'm a noob here. No, I'm not a Miata noob. I bought my first Miata a '91BRG back in 99. I helped start Chesapeake Area Roadsters and went on to be a founding member of York Area Mazda Society. I currently own a 94 project car (what i need help on) and an 08 PRHT NC. The 94 WILL NOT START. I think its the MSLabs MS2Basic PNP that's messing me up but i don't know.
My 1994 has a 2000 engine in it. I got the FULL kraken turbo kit. Along with that kit, I got the ecu and injectors from Kraken. That was about 2 years ago. I recently completed that install and i'm trying to get the car started. Relevant mods: affore mentioned 2000 engine with a 94 cam cover and CAS. Chassis has 94 harness in it. car has a JASS Performance COP pnp set up, a deatschWerks fuel pump, Bosch injectors (from kraken) which i think are 700cc each. I know the car will crank. I know its getting fuel... hell, I know its getting spark SOMETIMES because it backfires. Car will not start. I looked at the plug going into the CAS and saw it was old and crusty so i got a new connector and grafted it into the harness there.
For some reason forgotten to all of time, when i first hooked the MS3basic up, i loaded the trubo kitty tune onto it... I'm hoping that if i can acquire the original base map, it will start.
HELP PLEASE.
Thanks Much

I have been combing through and reading everything I can, but for the life of me, can not get an AFR to read in the Tunerstudio.
The car was running great prior to installing the MS3pro pnp. The car now starts, and then rev hunts until it dies out. I looked at the datalogging and tunerstudio, and there is 0 reading for the AFR. The AEM gauge is reading AFR, but seems to be not sending the information to the MS3 or the MS3 doesn't know what to do with the signal.

Installed an AEM x series 30-0300 wide band eugo.
GREEN/BLACK wire to CANL
WHITE/BLACK wire to CANH
Power and ground wired to switched power (door buzzer and ground).

I have also wired in a 120ohm resister at the end of the CAN Bus (gauge side)
I have attached the current tune (built off the 90-93 basemap) as well as a couple of data logs.

The GM IAT sensor was installed half way through setting up the MS3.
Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated... Theres something I am missing, I just cant place it. :bang:

VE Table Tuning — I Need 2 Things From You.

I've built a tool that analyzes your MegaSquirt datalog and tells you exactly what your VE table should be — cell by cell, with confidence ratings and full diagnostics.

Step 1: Extract your tune info (30 seconds)

Go here: MSQ VE Extractor

Drop your .msq file on the page. That's it. It pulls everything I need automatically:

VE table (flipped and formatted, ready to analyze)

RPM and MAP breakpoints

Injector dead time and battery voltage correction

EGO authority and closed-loop settings

DFCO settings

Accel enrichment configuration

Warmup enrichment curve

Rev limiter settings

Click Download Summary and upload that .txt file to your post.

Your tune never leaves your computer. The tool runs 100% in your browser — nothing gets uploaded to any server. Open the page, drop the file, done.

Step 2: Upload a datalog

Record a datalog in TunerStudio while driving. Export it as .csv from MegaLogViewer (File → Export → CSV). Upload the .csv to your post.

What to log:

Idle for 30-60 seconds (warmed up, 160°F+ coolant)

Normal city driving with moderate acceleration

Highway cruise at a few different speeds

A few WOT pulls if you're comfortable (2nd or 3rd gear, safe location)

Some deceleration / coast down

Requirements:

Engine fully warmed up before logging (CLT 160°F+)

Wideband O2 required — narrowband will not work

10-15 minutes of driving is plenty, longer is better

More driving conditions = better cell coverage = better results

That's it. Two files:

The .txt summary from the MSQ Extractor

Your datalog exported as .csv

No screenshots. No copy-paste from TunerStudio tables. No guessing what your breakpoints are.

What you get back:

A corrected VE table you can paste directly into TunerStudio, plus a full diagnostic report showing:

Every cell that was corrected and by how much

Whether the correction was EGO-driven (primary) or AFR-based (fallback)

Confidence level per cell based on sample count and data quality

Cells that need more driving data for better coverage

EGO clamp report — cells where your EGO authority ceiling is limiting corrections

The tool filters out fuel cut frames, accel enrichment, post-fuel-cut wideband lag, transient data, warmup enrichment, and sensor glitches before calculating anything. What's left is clean steady-state data that actually represents your engine's fueling needs.

Results are real. On a 306ci SBF (X303 cam, MegaSquirt PNP2) I tuned with this tool, three log-and-correct passes reduced the average wideband offset from +0.23 AFR to +0.06 AFR — a 74% reduction in fueling error across the entire table. GOOD cells nearly doubled each pass.

Scope — read this:

I am correcting your VE table only. I'm not adjusting AFR targets, timing, idle, boost, injector sizing, or anything else. If your AFR targets are wrong, that's on you. This tool makes your engine hit whatever targets you already have set. That's it.

Questions about the process — ask away.
Questions about spark tables or why your car won't start — not here.

On the dyno we tried changing spark plugs tightening the gap checking all vacuum changing the coils changed timing added fuel removed fuel but all to no luck. Here is the picture of the dyno graph of what is happening it doesn’t die out it just runs at 13 afr but doesn’t gain no power whatsoever any help or suggestions are needed. Right now I’m thinking about trying to barrow a ms3 and see if that changes anything.

Hey guys, I'm in the search of some help. I currently have a MS2E from MS Labs on my 93' 1.6, running great. Happened to install a knock sensor last weekend, but for the love of christ would not get it to read propertly. I've installed it next to oil filter, it's a bosch 2 wire donut style. Wires are connected to DB37 (white for signal and black/green as sensor ground), would not get any reading. Only two inputs i've are ADC1 and ADC2, the later one shows ~5% like stuck on there, doesnt move on rev up or hiting with metal near sensor. Kind of lost on what can it be, is there a pin involved on the board or something that am I missing? I've brought it second hand, no instructions or whatsoever.

Board reads Enhanced MS2 V6.0b and the microsquirt module it's V2.2m.

Thanks!

1990 1.6 Turbo Miata MSPNP2

I have read many forums that unfortunately have not helped solve my issue. Launch control will still not activate - please help!

The situation:
- clutch switch was broken, I put a new spring in it and tested resistance, switch is now in working condition

- the jumper to activate the factory upper clutch switch for LC is in place on the board, so to my knowledge, none of the next steps should even be necessary

- spliced into the brown/white wire and pinned it into the launch pin on the options port, still no LC

- pinned it into the clutch switch pin on options port, still no LC

- pinned it into the tableswitch pin on options port, switched the input pin in TunerStudio, still no LC

- put jumpers on the lower clutch switch and neutral safety switch for trans, still no LC

I’m pretty much at a loss here and not sure what else to try. Regardless of what hard limit or tps above value I enter, LC still won’t activate.

Thanks in advance!!

Regards,
Your local YouTube mechanic

the ms3x im asking about is a Braineack built MS3X thats almost 10 years old now, , i have upgraded to the mapdaddy 4 bar MAP in the case and added FET drivers for the AUDI coils in 2022

I've been running into tps accel/decel trigers keeping it from going into closed loop and causing poor idle and are not allowing it to lean out during cruise. The throttle signal stays solid on the gauge but when i go into the accell enrichment the tps and map signal is all over the place. I checked the ground and it tested good, I ran a new jumper back to the ecu and it made no change. It happens if the engine is on or off. I hooked it up to the snapon scope at work and found the spikes that are triggering the accel/decel are directly related to the 5v reference voltage spikes. The map signal is noisey but for some reason isnt triggering the enrichment even though the thresholds are the same. i checked the 5v signal to the IAT and CLT and it matches what i have at the TPS.

Im having trouble locating the assebly guide to see if i can open up and test the 5v ref circuit in the ecu itself and repair/replace it if needed. Does anyone have a link to the assembly guide?
