This new Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch can is the perfect solution for a boosted Miata/MX-5. Finally a nice compact form factor that's easy to mount in the Miata engine bay and a product that truly represents what a functional catch can is. Most solutions on the market are either in the $200-$300 range or they are cheap non-baffled cans that can't really be used as a part of a PCV system. The internal air diverter turbulates the air longer and ensures all the oil sinks to the bottom of the can, leaving nothing but clean air to pass through the 50 micron bronze filter to the intake. An internal baffle keeps the collected oil from splashing around under race conditions. This oil catch can features three ports, two inlets and one outlet, for easy installation on CCV and PCV systems.

-Separates oil particles from PCV/CCV air using 50 micron bronze filter
-100% billet 6061 aluminum sealed can
-Defends intercooler, intake system, and essential components from oil blow-by
-Helps maintain proper octane levels to reduce detonation
-Features two inlets and one outlet
-Filter and can are both fully serviceable
-Safe for pressurized applications
-Internal air diverter turbulates air longer to improve oil separation
-Includes 3 plastic barbed 1/2" hose fittings
-Universal mounting bracket for different configurations
-Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty

I used a DIY version of this design at one point, it was pretty effective, nowhere near as good looking as this one.

Dimensions of the can with and without bracket and the threading for the fittings would greatly improve the product page.

Does it make the gases go into a cyclone to separate the oil ? Or does it use a scrubber of sorts ?

The internal air diverter turbulates the air longer and ensures all the oil sinks to the bottom of the can - so in short, yes - without "officially" using the word cyclone.

It's indeed compact:
Height: 3.80" (without fittings)
Diameter: 2.50" (without fittings)

The bracket appears to be about .4in proud of the diameter.

All of the fittings are 3/8" NPT
