Default 1.8 TPS on 1.6 TB

Hello all, first thread here. My turbo setup is coming to the end, and I just have a few more parts to get before I start tearing into the bay. My question is: is there some way to fit a 1.8 TPS onto my 1.6 MT TB. I have only seen one thread on here (https://www.miataturbo.net/general-m...tle-body-7640/) and am not sure what I should do to replicate it as I do not have access to a cnc machine. I have access to a welder and plenty of scrap metal I can use to form the inner clips. I saw Braineacks' diagram of how to wire it, so I am good on that side.

Do this instead. I have over 1000 miles on mine now. I'm the one "Made" submission.

Glad to see some people in the real world using it that piece. I had Hi_im_sean finally design it up so that I could use in my MKTurbo setup.

It's a great design and appears to be holding up so far. It's been constantly above 80 degrees here since install and from what I can tell it still holding up just fine. My TPS is rock solid. I'll probably wait another month and update the actually TPS thread it was first posted in telling everyone who was silly enough to boost the 1.6 to use do this. If you need help with getting these printed let me know.

Another thought is find a throttle body from an automatic 1.6 and swap. The auto variation is variable. The shafts are different between the standard and auto so you can't simply swap the two sensors.

I mounted a TPS to my 1.6Throttle body from a Nissan KA24. it wasn't a total bolt-on though. I seem to remember removing the 1.6TPS and using the base plate from that to tack the Nissan tps to so I could get it mounted properly. the Nissan TPS worked fine and had a flying lead for wiring it in with my own connector.

Awesome piece! I just printed it and I'm ordering the tps soon. Do you have a good source for the sensor? I see a bunch on ebay for $30 but I don't see any that come with the pigtail, and I'd like to have that with it so I can easily wire it up to the stock connector.

Oh, I see. So I should just be able to plug and play? It says in the shapeways description that you need to swap the two outer wires if you have a pnp ecu (which is not an issue, I'll just swap the two that run to the stock connector), but I am looking at pictures and don't see how it will actually work with the 1.6 TB. From my understanding, the 1.6 tps has a D shaped opening that the shaft goes through, whereas the kia tps is an open circle with 3 notches around it.. I'll attach the pics I see for the part #.

The picture just makes it hard to see, but it's actually recessed in. i think in that pic you can JUST start to see the D shape.

TPS4185

this one looks like it has the D notch: https://www.amazon.com/XA-Throttle-Position-Sensor-Fits/dp/B00PBZ774G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1503523599&sr=8-4&keywords=TPS4185

as does this:

i dont even know what all those words mean. lol.

oh wait. i looked at the specs of that thing for a second, then loled. for a 1.6L i think it could just barely be adequate.

I mean, I know it is more comparable to a ms1. Trust me I'd much rather get a mspro, but I figured this would be a better budget choice than an FMU or similar "bandaid".

So I got the tps in the mail, and I'm ready to install my ecu. Only thing is, I haven't been able to find good documentation on which wire is which on the tps. What wires did you guys swap in your installs with the factory wiring harness and the Kia tps?
