Just a quick post. Still working my *** off welding and fabricating... Havent had much time to snap and post pictures.
Working on finishing the B series manifold I posted a while back being that I was just building it in any down time I had. Its getting picked up Saturday, so I hope to have pictures before I send it off.
I also have Dana's black CRX back in for a turbo manifold, downpipe and cold pipe upgrades that just started and much more on the off-season!
A little stainless steel air temperature sensor bung weld since people love pictures!

Figured I'd post in here as I just bought a welder.
I was going to get the everlast powertig 185 micro. However theyre around $850 don't come with a foot pedal and the foot pedal overrides the set amperage. So I was scouring craigslist and found an ad for Eastwood (had looked at but never really considered).
The unit, tig200a, does ac/dc and is dual voltage (comes with an adaptor cable). It also comes with a foot pedal that you can set the available amperage with.
I've read some stories about people getting them and it not working right out of the box, however since it was a returned unit it was tested and guaranteed to work, it also comes with a 3-year warranty.
So far it works pretty good. Its my first real practice on a tig machine but I also have a Lincoln mig that I've used quite a bit.
Figured I'd throw my review in there for anyone considering a cheaper unit. I'lo post pictures later.

Lots to keep coming!
This is where I am at with the 1.6 Bottom mount pictured above.
HellaFabrication Miata 1.6 bottom mount turbo manifold by HellaFab, on Flickr
I will have an FE3 Miata coming to my house in the next week and a half for a full jam kit consisting of: Top mount turbo mani, downpipe with wastegate recirc, intercooler pipes, custom intercooler with Miata optimized end tanks and 350hp core, full custom aluminum oil pan with custom pickup tube and engine mounts to lower the engine in the chassis to clear the hood. Big job-super pumped for it!
I also have a verbal on a 1.6 TiAL ramhorn setup with EWG screamer and downpipe that will come in soon. Very cool car and unique setup. Excited to see how his setup compares to my old 1.6 setup with the same turbo!
Being that I have these projects on the horizon the manifold above is on hold for a week until I finish some garage work I want to have done before the FE3 Miata comes in. My garage is in shambles right meow with me doing some wiring, insulation and drywall upgrades.

Had to use my engine hoist to lift parts to get it assembled. Its HUGE.
Will be able to deck flat a whole 6 cylinder manifold on it. pretty awesome!
-For those of you that don't do metalwork... you tack the runners to the head flange, build and weld all of the runners and then break the tacks to the head flange and deck them so that they all sit 100% flat on the head flange before welding. Premium fitup, best for welding and reliability. You only ever need to take a few mm off the pipe to get a great fit from welding distortion.

I dig the beast of a belt sander, but my neurosis makes me cringe everytime I see your shop walls. I'd end up never getting any fab work done because I'd have to start hanging sheetrock which would turn into replacing rotten window frames which would turn into...

I am going to finish the insulation under the windows and sheetrock the whole thing when I get those in. I have 4 sheets up on the ceiling now that I had left over from another house project.
Floor replacement is on the books for the spring being that its a balmy -27C here this morning. Since Im replacing the concrete pad in front of the garage at the same time, I will have to wait until it warms up.
