The IRL borg EFR is different than the normal borg warner flange that comes on the EFR.

Vbands are nice to allow some wiggle room when designing systems and they make it easy to access the hardware... but on a mid to large frame turbo, bolted flanges are still king. (t3/t4/t6 footprints) T2 footprints are so tight for that one bolt that sits under the turbine housing that vband is much easier to access.

Im currently finishing up the third of these low mount, short runner "Absurdflow" style manifolds right now with a t2 flange for an internal wastegate EFR6258 with my specific EFR placement. Downpipe to follow. This setup will rock. If I were to build another street Miata for myself, this would be the setup I would run (maybe omit internal wastegate for external wastegate for packaging and boost control).

That said, I am waiting for a t4 twin scroll 6258 to come in for a BP manifold. That could very well become the new hotness.

Started a 1.8 bottom mount manifold for TiAL housing while we wait for the backordered 6258 T4 twin scroll to make its way to me. (its in the mail to me right now)
Here is a collector shot pre-welding.

T4 Twin scroll turbo EFR on hand. Im excited (I normally don't get terribly excited), there will be some serious advantages with these turbos over the t2 inlet EFR's.
The housings are really, really nice...

Looks like the IWG is the same position as on the t25?

its a totally different actuator bracket (off of the chra) I wouldn't put my money on it being the same. The actuator bracket is slotted on this one but the actuator bracket I have used for a t2 efr isn't.
We have the turbo position tacked for the top mounted jig. We need to spend a bit of time playing with some elbows and the collectors that we've cut to really hone in if the position is the best it can be before building a production jig.

I did order some wicked laser cut jigs for the absurdflow style manifolds that Tim sends my way being that he doesn't make them anymore. The jigs aren't cheap, but (if they work like I hope) they will really help reduce measurements required to make a manifold and give a more consistent manifold. That and I can hand the jig to someone else and ask them to cut them for me without having to be able to read technical drawings.

What are saturdays at work for? Making this nee carrier bearing and mounting plate for the hydroplane.

It's not dyed, it's 4.5mill Hardcoat with a Teflon coating. I've been working here 5 years and haven't seen any parts come out over 3mill without burning. This is dark, even a grinder would have a hard time getting through this. Me likey.
