It's clear you really don't know what you're doing and neither does your friend if he is using trimix for tig.

If you're having a problem with wire feed stainless and 75/25, you need to set the machine up properly, and prep you work properly.

We build tanks out of stainless that are filled with extremely corrosive liquids and hold a tremendous amount of weight(pressure) with this process and have great success.

Never said I was a pro.. Didn't even stay in a holiday inn last night ...I would read up before doing anything

Also, use 308 wire. That's what I've had success with.

I won't stand here and say that one way is better than the other. Because I know welding stainless without trimix isn't. But I do know it's possible.

Honestly, you're best bet is to just find someone with a tig and let them do it.

In order to prove the length of my penis, I found this on the Lincoln Welding website. .

In addition, you do not want to use the same type of shielding gas that you use with carbon steel wire, such as 75%Ar/25%CO2 or 100%CO2. Both carbon and oxygen from the shielding gas react with the stainless steel in the heat of the arc, resulting in some oxidization and reduction in corrosion resistance. - See more at: http://m.lincolnelectric.com/en-us/s....GGdEiois.dpuf

This is interesting.. Waiting to hear what others say on this

Flux core, shielded with tri mix. Then you get those pretty colored welds. If I recall correctly.

How cheap? I get them for about $3.75 from a local plumbing shop.

By header flange you mean the one at the head, or the one to go from manifold to turbo. Either way PRL Motorsports is where you need to go. They have both and are extremely fast with shipping them out.

Sent them a message.
Looks like they dont have the input or output flanges for a TD-04L. Hopefully they can make them because shipping for just 1 flange is not cheap :/

If you can ship them a gasket or such they can make the flanges, but generally they want them bought in quantities of at least 5 to get done.
