Default HighRes Rev Limit Problem (tried writing .msq by hand)

Just flashed high res 10e

I am having that rev limit problem at 2500 that many people are running into. I have re-entered all the values by hand after reflashing the firmware, and still no luck. Do you have any idea? I have been searching but have come up with nothing

Thanks

Download diyautotunes 96/97 msq. Then modify it with your values. Quick fix.

Pm me your email, i'll send you a msq that you can add your own fuel/spark settings to. Worth a try anyway. Just remember, nothing about my MSQ is really safe for you car but atleast I know my MSQ doesn't have a rev limit issue. Edit/use it at your own risk. As in, set the overboost for your own settings, load fuel/spark maps, cranking pws, AE, all that good stuff.

appreciate it. I am just going to run review mode on two computers with different msqs to change them.

Did u just use the PNP.exe files to install megatune?

Thanks

I have so many MS files on my computer i have no idea where to begin to tell you where I got them all. msextra.com is as good of a place as any.

i cant run megatune. Each time I install and uninstall I get
ERROR:megatune.ini:0006.

Its a settings error. Its odd because I am doing a clean install using DIY's PNP.exe file.

so tempted to just reinstall windows, lol..that is the only thing that computer is being used for

Hmm. All i can say is go ahead and delete everything you can possibly find related to megatune. Then reboot and try the install.

Re-install the DIYAutoTune stuff then follow this procedure:

If you are still getting the limit, I have a file from Jerry that cured the problem for me, but hopefully you won't need it.

After using Cjernigan's msq (and changing to my constants, etc) I am still hitting the limit. Same thing happened with DIY's 96/97 Msq.

Saboteur, could you send your map my way so I can give it a try?

Do you need a variable TPS to run HighRes? Isnt it just to increase resolution on Pulse widths, etc?

I have a feeling just trying all these msq's isn't going to resolve your issue. Download a new firmware file, re-easytherm it, then reflash the firmware. If you had some kind of msq corruption it is very possible it corrupted your firmware. If 3 different msq's did the same thing then you're pissing in the wind trying more.
Reflash your firmware and report back. You can get the latest hi-res firmware(10F) here:

I reflashed the firmware and the same thing happened. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I dont see what it could be.

I install megatune and then replace the ini files and .s19 files and then flash the firmware. I then copied the air, therm, and mat files from easytherm to the src folder of megatune.

Opened up megatune and it was showing HighRes on the top so that was good. I burned the msq (with zero errors) and still its the same thing.

If i hold down the accelerator I can rev past the mark, and once it breaks that point its fine. I checked spark tables and fuel tables, even rev limit settings.

I reflashed to non high res and it worked fine.

I have tried everything, down to reinstall windows and then all Megatune stuff.

I have uploaded my MSQ and a log to see what was happening during this "rev limit". Please anyone take a look and offer suggestions.

Thanks

Do you have the resistor soldiered in correctly? (IE: JS8 to ground) Maybe the joints are broke from vibrations?

Any help would be appreciated. I have spend hours on this to no avail. I read through the MSExtra Dev. pages and nothing.

I really dont know what to do. Is there any hardware that needs to be different between high res and non? I am beginning to think its a hardware issue or something since I cannot get it to work no matter what I try. (reinstalling megatune, reflashing etc.)
