We've just started advertising our new third generation LEM in the 'Classifieds -> Parts for sale' sub-forum. Since not many forum members have much experience with it, it was suggested that we pick somebody willing to install one and record their experience for others.

As we appreciate there would be some effort involved in doing this properly, we though we'd like to offer a reviewer a free DisplayLink (worth US$675 - see http://www.linkecu.com/products/TuningTools/DisplayLink), on the following basis:

• The person involved would buy the LEM G3 and the relevant Miata adapter at the normal price.
• We would provide assistance / support via phone / email / Skype, as per normal. (we have a Californian phone number that will transfer calls to New Zealand at no extra cost)
• Once the ECU is installed, the reviewer would post an article on their experience on the forum. Please note - we would still want the right to read the article and prepare a reply to it before it is published.
• Once the article has been completed and posted, we will then provide the reviewer with a DisplayLink free of charge.
• At any point until they receive the DisplayLink, the reviewer can elect to withdraw from the process, at which point they can return the ECU and get a full refund.
• The person would need access to a dyno, and have reasonable experience in tuning vehicles.
• To prevent bias, the reviewer should be an existing forum member, as of today, and should not be a supplier or manufacturer of competing products.
• Depending on circumstances, preference may be given to more senior forum members

The sort of posting we're thinking of would be at least 12 solid paragraphs (or more), with a few photos.

Please PM me with your details / experience etc. We'll leave the offer open for a week, and then select somebody. If we get tons of suitable people, we'll open it to the forum to choose who does it from a list of finalists.

Finally, we'd hate this to backfire on us - we just want to tell you about our gear, give you the chance to try it out, let others know how you got on, and give you something for the effort involved, without leaving ourselves open to being taken advantage of - Please take it in that spirit.

I'm always curious about these proprietary displays- wonder why somebody didn't write software to run on a handheld (CE/Palm), then there wouldn't be all the associated costs with the hardware and the user could buy or use a unit they already own. Surely it would be cheaper for both parties.

I couldn't find a price for the G3, just the G2. That would probably help somebody make a decision.

I assume this allows the removal of the afm on 1.6 cars. What type of injection does it support? Sequential? High or low ohm injectors?

I took delivery of mine 15th Feb for my GT2860RS BEGI equipt mk1, its being mapped on the 9th at RogueMotorsport an MR2 specialist I trust. All I'll comment on so far is for Europe; LINK don't send the Delphi AIT sensor as its 3/8 18tpi tapered thread that no one in the UK at least uses (common in the US i'm lead to believe). So I've had to seperately get a bosch sensor instead thats a push in and bolt to secure setup so a boss is simple to make. Anyway do I get the display for ordering one before you advertised it

P.S it does sequential,... if you only have 2 cylinders.

Considering that a Palm Vx is going for $ 30.00 on ebay and PLink is free how can you go wrong.

In reply to m2cupcar - the prices on the web are in fact for the G3. We don't have any of the old model left, so the 'G3' distinction wasn't mentioned.

We'll fix that in the next couple of hours.

I do not want to be critical with my posts.

I will be running a Link (FM) on my Bell Turbo starting this spring. The Link was chosen because of its track record of being solid with good support as it has a large user base (so not just FM support).

The point I am getting at is that money does not grow on trees.

Your display looks very good and I was looking at it on your web page a few months back and was wondering if it would work on my Link.

But $ 675 is a bit high considering that I already own 2 Palm PDA's , one of which is sitting in a drawer.

You should offer software to work with Palm OS or Windows (CE - Mobile- etc) along with adapters (Serial - USB) to use with your units.

WARNING it isn't plug & play with the Adaptalink the guys at LINK advised me to use for any cars younger than August 95. I found out something wasn't right when I plugged in the harness turned the key to ON and my Fuel Injection fuse blew. After a bit of searching on the net I found a major wiring reshuffle occured and the pinouts are totally different post August 95.

Steve is correct - it turns out there was a mis-understanding about the '96 / '97 model, which came in after the version we do support, and before the '99 onwards (NB) version, so the web-site will be updated to reflect this. We'll have a decision in a week or so on when we'll have an adapter for the '96 / '97 model.

In the meantime we've offered to refund Steve for his adapter, and are helping him sort out the wiring differences between the two versions.

Just to be explicit - the version we support at present is the one where the loom has two plugs (the header itself has 4 sockets).

All the wiring has been sorted out now with the help from the guys at LINK, so if anyone needs to wire in a car built between 8/95 - 12/97, I have some excel plug diagrams that will help.

Unfortunately I found today it looks like pluging the G3 into the adapter and the 97 loom has had a fatal impact on the ECU.
