Can we please have an Epic Fail section?

There has been much epic fail by our many members.

I think it would be fantastic if we had a section that immortalized those posts. I can think of many posts and events i reas about here that had so much sadness

You want like a gallery for all pics like this one?

http://www.mekalummezar.com/carpics/ul6.jpg

Braineack 09-26-2012 01:34 PM

I'd have to move every post of yours into it, Min, and that would be a lot of effort.

i'd contribute.
almost every single thing i did to my previous car would fall under the "fail" umbrella.

leatherface24 09-26-2012 02:23 PM

I do miss the Fail Factor section of which I was a mod for a day. That was so much fun but Rick thought we'd get sued. That meant it was REAL good.

Props Fae, that was a good one.

lordrigamus 09-26-2012 11:37 PM

I'll contribute on 2manyhobyz behalf. I blew his car up 3 weeks ago.

triple88a 09-27-2012 01:22 AM

lol What were you guys doing?

y8s 09-27-2012 08:50 AM

I drove my boosted miata to work this week 3 times.

am I doing the fail thread right?

phillyb 09-27-2012 10:35 AM

i watched a friend strip a fuel pump bolt head (torx or inverted torx, don't recall) and take a dremel to his engine bay.
not quite a sawzall, but definitely worthy of a laugh.
this was in an ms6 with an in-tank pump as well as a high pressure pump in the engine bay.

i've had my hp fuel pump seize on me and had to drive almost 40 miles on 50psi of fuel pressure instead of 400-1700 (depending on load)

leatherface24 09-27-2012 11:27 AM

I have had too much fail to specify

pusha 09-27-2012 04:21 PM

Yeah but your fail has been due primarily to your utter retardation. HUR DUR, I'm going to part my entire car out because of a wobbly crank pulley.

Well we just got done with lunch and he said "You haven't driven my car yet, have you?" That's when I said "No, not really." So he tossed me the keys, we hopped in and I commenced to flog the shit out of it. To our dismay, we realized after a few short romps that the boost controller wasn't cutting boost at the 10 psi he had it set at previously and it spiked to 17 psi on the stock bottom end. Said spiking yielded the following results:

impressive

lordrigamus 09-27-2012 08:13 PM

That thing buckled like a Wal-Mart belt. Fuel and spark were good. No signs of detonation. Just too much cylinder pressure, we're guessing.

Bryce 09-28-2012 01:48 AM

I bent all 4 rods in a non-built 04 making 272whp once. Too much torque.

pdexta 09-28-2012 10:34 AM

A couple years ago I spent the entire month of January riding my CBR to work because I couldn't get my car to start after installing the crank wheel backwards.

triple88a 09-28-2012 12:56 PM

When i first installed my turbo i tried to run on a piggy back (xede) I think that qualifies :P.

At this point ripping bolts is routine for me. I also ripped the ac lines when i did my ac.

leatherface24 09-28-2012 01:35 PM

I sat in dog shit last night while working on my car. True story bros

gearhead_318 09-30-2012 05:01 PM

I once sheared the head off a slave cylinder. All I got was this shitty screen name.

You will after you sell your miata, miss it after 6 months, buy another, and turbo it from scratch. Except this time it will break and take you months or years to get running properly because of babby

chpmnsws6 10-05-2012 01:02 AM

for 3 years I was nearly married and ate like a lard. Now I am what I ate.

pusha 10-05-2012 01:58 AM

...a fat pussy?

Enginerd 10-06-2012 10:34 AM

Unfortunately, folks around Illinois are taking the faIL to heart. This year has had more failed builds than I've ever seen.

chpmnsws6 10-06-2012 10:04 PM

I've had enough fail with my car to last a lifetime.

Stein 10-06-2012 10:30 PM

If I had to document all of my fails, I'd run out of internet.

viperormiata 10-07-2012 04:20 AM

Two fluorescent light bulbs fell from their fixture and into my open engine bay.

triple88a 10-07-2012 04:30 AM

Well at least you didnt smack them with a hammer while smacking at something in the engine bay.

viperormiata 10-07-2012 04:33 AM

I had my valve cover off, too. This was something like 3 years ago. I still find glass from time to time. Not recommended for a good time.
