A quick google search tells me that this is not possible. vBulletin apparently filters BEFORE saving the post, so the only thing that is saved is '----'.

I'm shocked that google would find cursing more offensive than Pushy's red wings pictures - I know, I know. They determine it via spiders and spiders can't search text for Pushy's red wing pictures. But still. Their policy seems shockingly strict and arbitrary for Google.
