Blackbird Fabworx Banned?

I'm still a Miata geek even if I decide to stop advertising here.

You guys are overthinking this.
There is no intent. IB just could care less. It's a system/robot. Every now and then Dolan logs in and fixes all the crap that's broken, but that's the only human interaction there is. they could give a crap about anything that actually happens.
They just have the system to auto-ban all "former vendors" instead of taking the time to just remove vendor status and leave the account

Saying all that I have unbanned several previous sponsors so they can keep their accounts as they are members of the community and want to stay that way, but no longer sell their products on here.

If that's the case, that's a **** way to thank a former sponsor for their contributions. Deny advertising, product announcements OK but allow them to remain contributing members of the community regardless.

I have also seen miata.net's blank contract and that piece is not in it. I also confirmed with the owner that I was reading it correctly.
This is a simple part of contract negotiation that should be done up front when you enter the contract.

I understand what you're saying but this general response of "it isn't our/my fault; it's a robot system" is a big part of what's wrong with people everywhere IMO. It's the same everywhere you go - the bank, call the cable company, etc. In our present society we've adopted this widespread idea that nothing is anyone's fault - it's always pass the buck. But the end result for the average person, the consumer, is that nobody personally gives a ____ about anyone else. Just blame it on someone/something else. Nobody takes responsibility. You say it's IB, IB is nowhere to be found, etc.
End soapbox

His sponsorship lapsed.
The end. Nobody made a mistake here.

Basically this. IB tends to be a lot more involved with most of their other forums. We were lucky in that mod staff have always been very involved on here and not out to cause trouble during the multiple owner changes over the years. So basically they leave us be, let Braineack and mods make any major decisions. IB get involved when things come up that Braineack or I can't solve, IE when sponsorship starts or ends, paypal subscriber issues, and things along those lines.

I have seen IB's blank contract. At the bottom it clearly states what happens with sponsorship ends. "User names associated with this account will be unusable upon cancellation.". It is a shitty rule, but it is what is in the stock contract. I would guess that you could cross it out, and amend the contract with that removed and they would probably resign it and send it back.

I was also not aware of the "if you decide to not continue to be a sponsor your username will be deleted". I suppose it's partially shame on me for not reading the contact more carefully, but still. I can see an instance where the vendor is only here to sell parts, and as such wouldn't have much business on the site. Those that have become vendors after some time as a regular member should certainly get the option. I suppose this line of logic isn't likely something a robot would consider though.
