Just a thought/suggestion... 
What would be the impact of the forum with a live chat page/feature/function?
I'm opposed to having a little chat bar plugin on the lower right of the site at all times.
Maybe a separate page? Or be in it's own separate pop-up window.
Thoughts & Feedback?
