Auto-uploader STILL doesn't work for Vendors.
I am smart enough to post links as ".jpg?" most of the time to prevent the useless auto-uploader from getting its hands on my images, but occasionally I will forget. Why isn't this a priority for IB, instead of testing crap like inline Instagram posts?

As far as I can tell, it takes the image URL, fails to upload it to the forum properly, then takes the URL for the failed upload and replaces the original image URL with the bad forum-generated URL.
Here, let's try it in this thread. This is an Imgur link (raw url: https://i.imgur.com/DCTD3a1.jpg) that the forum will eventually pick up and attempt (fail) to rehost.

It seems that the forum will grab and host small images, but big ones it just leaves the URL in there. I dunno what the threshold is, but 1280x960 (which is what iPhoto exports as 'large', and what I usually use for my photos) appears to be above it.
(I always put the IMG tags in by hand)

So, it does still happen as seen here - https://www.miataturbo.net/general-m...t-build-84702/
It looks like the attachmentid parameter in the post doesn't match the actual images uploaded?
observe:
What gets posted (removed superflous timestamps):
What should have been posted

I tried and failed to upload a couple of images from google searches yesterday with the uploader. It said invalid file type or something. I did not type out the img tags longhand so I don't know if doing it that way may have worked.

I like the re-hosting. Bonus: I've even been able to re-hotlink the "miataturboattachment" URLs on other sites and have it work.
Sounds like your issue is that when you post something here, sometimes to use the same link again on another site, you have to go back to the original source, can't just jump from site to site, correct?

My issue (I think you're referring to me?) is that whenever I forget the "jpg?" modifier, I get people emailing me three days later complaining that a picture I posted that they really want to see isn't working, when it was working just fine after I had posted it.
