Default Newbie safe section?

What's everyone's thoughts of a newbie safe section? In addition to the meet & greet, this would be a safe area for people to ask stupid questions and avoid the eggplant. It may keep the stupid questions from the actually useful sections and may keep those from being clogged up. Good information is becoming harder to search out because of the repetitive questions we are sick of answering. If someone were to search for kits, every response from the last 6 months will point them to ebay because we are so tired of the question, that they are all smart *** answers.

You could easily avoid this section, but for those who want to be helpful, the answers wouldn't get lost in the flak.

Probably just intro sections. If dumb questions are asked in their intro thread either no replies will happen or some information.

I'd give that section a 72 hour life span before the raping continued.

If your searches are returning crap threads with no info, the better solution would be to ask a mod to delete said thread if it does indeed add nothing to the site.

I vote when you click on the noob section it take you to a page with the FAQ listed out and a search bar, no posting allowed lol

It's not noobness that people around here can't tolerate, it's stoopidness.

So I think what you're really asking for is a special place where stupid people will be safe acting stupid? Kinda like a short bus?

I don't get why would purposefully create a section of the site to cater to people who ask stupid questions without searching and who are protected from flaming. Doesn't make sense to me.

I think the rule about being generally non-abusive to noobs in their intro thread is good enough...

But I liked Foxyroadster's suggestion. Create a banner for Noobs saying ALL NEW MEMBERS MUST START HERE and there's an FAQ and a search and a warning which basically consists of an amalgamation of all the responses we give to noobs who don't search. Besides eggplant.
