Temp gauge inop, digital dash options?
I have a '90 Miata with a small turbo, MS2 PNP, intercooler. Daily driver. My dash temperature and fuel gauges are both inop, and have been since the MS2 was installed. Everything else is working as it should. When my laptop it plugged it the temp shows up fine. Cooling fans come on and off as programed also. I had some jittery gauges on the laptop until I went around the car and cleaned every ground contact I could find. Any advice on where to look would be appreciated. I'm 75 and overweight so working under the dash is a challenge. I can see the fuse box by drivers left knee with a mirror and pulled and checked those fuses. Is there a simple, inexpensive digital dash that I could plug into the MS2? The "dash" on the laptop is nice but obviously too bulky for everyday use.
Daryl,
Those gauges shouldn't be inoperative after the PNP install. The fuel gauge definitely shouldn't have been touched. I'm trying to think but I believe they are both on a dash gauge power circuit.

Thanks, Sixshooter.
Does anyone know where the fuse would be that would be suspect? If I have a good idea what to look for I might be able to get a young person (with no experience fussing with cars) to get under the dash.
Regards,
Daryl
