What are the chances of making .webp a valid file format for uploading pictures around here?

Just to be clear these should be inserted images.

when i click on your attachment links i can choose view or download (iOS)

yes, but that's not going to be quick :( i've been waiting for heic to be treated like an image for quite a while now. It requires a core vB code change though.
