So when I go to a thread that I've read before, I immediately scroll to the bottom, then scroll up a bit to find the last place I read. This is totally broken on pages that do dynamic "infinite scroll" (because there is no bottom) and thus I wind up having to scroll through from the top instead. That's way less efficient.
On mobile, clicking on the "red dot word bubble" on the right jumps to the first unread post in a thread:

It just pains me to see engineering time being spent developing features which make the user experience worse and will be turned off by those patient enough to figure out how to do so.

Yes to this. At least I finally got the damn related threads crap turned off on the forums I am on that have it. If you want to add new stuff great, but don't cram it down our throats. Why not make it so the default is off? Then those who want it can turn it on and deal with the resulting loss of brain matter.

The greatest flaw of infinite scroll, and moreso with related threads, is that new users won't realize that they are posting in the wrong thread. They should be off by default, or better yet, just not exist as options at all.

Even so, I still don't see the point to infinite scroll. It's a solution in search of a problem.

That goddamn "related" thread about some teal Honda... For ****'s sake. I know IB has turned back on related threads right away when I see the pic of that car pop up. The stupid *** algorithm thinks a thread about a completely different car is related to every thread on this forum. Not only is the feature super annoying, it's also totally broken.

Problem with the mobile site. When I scroll in one direction then scroll in the other, it doesn't move in the new direction. I have to lift my finger and try scrolling again.
It's really ******* annoying.
Does this **** not get tested in the real world?

You dumb ************* had better fix the prop system so I don't have to load a bumper page and then re-load the thread every time I want to downvote a post explaining another one of your shitty ideas.
