wat

In all my years I've never used an Intel-branded motherboard and the only time I had a problem was with ABIT (my first build). Biostar, Gigabyte, ASUS, ASRock have all performed flawlessly for me.

imo get a small 64gb solid state for your boot drive, your perceived speed of computer will go thru the roof. or get a bigger one and ditch the platter drive all together

That's what I run. A 64GB boot drive that runs OS and two games. All storage on an old 320gb drive and the things is blazing fast.

Alright guys, the time has come. I have a lot of **** to buy this week (another bass guitar, parts from ARtech, blah blah blah) and the computer is one of them.

Tomorrow is the internet shopping day so I figured Cyber Monday would be the ideal day to buy all my computizzle shizzle. I'll remake my master list when I get off work and start finding the best deals online. Hopefully I can get most (if not all of it) from Newegg.

Thanks again, fellas and the occasional woman.

I don't like the Thermaltake case one bit. That Corsair one is sex.

Though, i love my oversized mid tower. For today's stuff, i'd have to get a full tower.

I think I'll splurge on the Corsair. I'm pretty much going with all the ATX compatible shizzle that we put together a few pages ago.

Ordered. Thanks again guys and a big thank you to Joe Perez. My list is basically a slightly modified version of the one he made above.

I'm excited. Got the case I want and good hardware. If there are any mistakes I don't mind making returns.

After rebates, total is 630-ish bucks.

Edit: ****, I need a keyboard, lol ****.

Ram is 1600, but motherboard supports 1333/1066. Hmm Not sure what that means, i suppose it will just retard the timing of your ram. Or only go so fast.

It should work out. Keep us updated as you put it together.

Viper you chose in parts confuses me, you bought a flashy case and 16gb of ram with a bunch of slow parts. Is this a video/graphic workstation as that's all I could think of you using this stuff for.

Believe it or not that did cross my mind (does that mean I'm learning?). If there is an issue I'll make a return. I should be good, though.

The case is purely to fill my aesthetic needs and just for making me feel giggly when I look at it. 16gb ram was cheaper than 8gb last night, so I figured why not.

Yes, this computer will be used for basic **** like internetting and doing some recording work with my bass guitars using a usb-1/4" adapter and some other hardware.

I will not be playing PC games. At all. But I wanted something that I could continue to update, upgrade and learn on. Hopefully all the pieces work well together. It was a rush job, but that's what I get for working nights.

I would pick up a cheap video card in the $50-100 range. The HD 2000 will do a ok job but if you ever want to run more then 1 screen or play some 1080p video while doing anything else as it will use the CPU to GPU calculations and have to use system ram as vram. It's not a that big of deal but can slow things down. I have a HD6970 I'm trying to off load for $150. It's still in the top 20 best GPU chips on the market.

Thought watching Fox made you hate free loaders and charity.

Just make sure it's PCIx not AGP.
