Display driver stopped responding

Anyone run into this? I recently started having an issue where all three of my screens freeze up and after anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute they come back and i have an error in the system tray : Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. It seems totally random when it happens. I can be running the cards pretty hard and have no problems, but while watching Netflix and playing around on the interwebs it can happen. Or it will happen under heavy load and not during light loads, which leads my to believe that the overclocking is not a factor.

I've tried increasing the value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\GraphicsDrivers and updating to the newest drivers. I've also removed all overclocking from the system.

Specs:
Intel i5 4690k with slight overclock
2 GTX 970 in SLI overclocked
16Gb of RAM
2x 1TB SSD in raid
Full custom water cooling loop on GPUs and CPU with 2 radiators. All temps are in the low 30's at all times under load.

I'm thinking of maybe taking the 970's out and only run one at a time to see if one is going bad.

I had this issue a few months back and could not fix it. Even tried a clean install on the software and nothing. reloaded the OS and boom it works perfectly fine now.

Interesting...well i guess it is a good excuse to upgrade to 1080's while i'm at it...
