I bought the disk yesterday.
That was the first time I've played a game continuously for 8 hours in a few years.
That said, I'm now reminded of why I dislike console gaming. The frame rate is stable most of the time... At 20 fps, and there's nothing I can do about it, whereas on PC I could upgrade the vidya card if needed.
The resolution and draw distance rendering quality has caused me to sit closer to the TV so I can actually see what I'm shooting at/fixing to drive into.
The driving physics: I personally would love some simulation-style driving physics, though we all know that's not what the target audience wants. I do enjoy the driving in this game though, except for the motor cycles. They seem very twitchy. I miss the vehicle damage rate from GTA 4. You could be speeding through the city and suddenly collide with a telephone pole, getting thrown from the crushed tin can that was your vehicle. In GTA 5, you can collide with immovable objects multiple times and suffer from nary a scratch it seems.

Something else I noticed earlier, I have yet to be arrested. In all previous GTA's, I was as likely to be arrested as I was shot to death. If you came to a stop because of car damage, or fell down, the cops would rush you and hold you at gunpoint. Now, they just shoot to kill, no matter what. I've been shot to death for stealing a car, or even standing too close to a cop. WTF.

I kind of like the fact that they don't explode so quickly. It makes it a lot more fun to use your car as cover when holding off a bunch of cops once you get yourself cornered lol.
Although it gets pretty tough to hold off the cops for very long after a few shots kill you. I guess it is a bit more realistic this way but I still find it annoying.

Not wanting to give away spoilers, but was anyone slightly disturbed and yet a little excited when Trevor had to 'get some info' from the dude you had to break out? I love it so far. Love it. It's huge, looks pretty, I spent an hour just driving around and still haven't seen 2% of the whole map. I do think cars are damaged less easy like was said. Full frontal unto a truck and barely a scratch. Cops like to shoot at you for even the most minor of crimes (rockstar hit the nail on the head here )
Only problem, how will I get to play gta this weekend with f1, alms and WEC all going on

Cool story of the day: I was allowed to enjoy this for 1.5 days before I tripped over a wire, pulled the console off of the cabinet and scratched the everlasting **** out of the gta disc. Won't polish out and is now serving as a coaster, that's about all that it's good for now. I might actually kill myself now.

I'm not kidding at all. I've gotten good enough I should charge. Every few months my buddy comes over with a stack of his/friends discs. Haven't had one not clean up yet. Some just take longer.
EDIT: I don't recommend the yellow discs. They can help, but 50/50 I need to fix the damage they can do.
